AmplifyBio is seeking to hire a Scientist/Senior Scientist, Protein Sciences to join our growing team!!!

The Scientist/Senior Scientist, Protein Sciences is an experienced team leader with a track record of success in production and analysis of proteins by a variety of biophysical methods. The ideal candidate should have experience in molecular biology, protein expression, purification methods, and analytical methods.

What You’ll Do Here:

• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of scientists carrying out protein production and biophysical analysis while ensuring proteins are produced on time and with high quality to support projects.
• Develop new processes and improve protein production and characterization approaches.
• Develop new methods internally and work with external parties on analytical methods for characterization of proteins.
• Work with automated platforms for protein production.
• Lead and collaborate on internal project teams with members from Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, Cell Engineering, Cellular Immunology, and Quality Control.
• Represent the protein sciences function on client projects.
• Troubleshoot protein production issues when they arise.
• Ensure procedures and team training is kept up-to-date.
• Maintain rigor, quality of execution, documentation, and timelines.
• Contribute to a positive company culture.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form, with internal and external stakeholders.

We Would Love to Hear from You If You Have:

• An advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in biochemistry/molecular biology/chemical engineering or a relevant biological science.
• 5+ years in industry with documented experience developing processes and methods for expressing and characterizing proteins.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally on development projects.
• Experience in molecular biology and protein expression (most importantly from mammalian cell expression platforms) as well as purification methods (particularly column chromatography methods like affinity, ion-exchange, size-exclusion, hydrophobic interaction).
• Expertise in general protein analytical techniques including SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, surface plasmon resonance, calorimetry, and spectrophotometric analysis (UV, DLS, DSF, CD, etc.).
• Experience with HPLC analysis of proteins, protein complexes, peptides, and oligosaccharides.
• The ability to focus on goals and time-sensitive objectives.
• Experience using automated platforms for protein production (Hamilton, Bravo, Tecan, etc.).
• Experience with LC-MC analysis of proteins and peptides a plus.
