Tony Hurley is joining the AmplifyBio Executive Team, following AmplifyBio’s asset purchase from PACT Pharma. Tony Hurley joined PACT Pharma in April, 2020, as Senior Vice President, Manufacturing. Tony brings over 30 years of extensive pharmaceutical experience in technical operations with a focus on biologics manufacturing and aseptic processing. Prior to joining PACT, Tony served 3 years as Head of Technical Operations for Intarcia Therapeutics, a phase 3 diabetes combination product company where he led the Manufacturing, Quality, Process Development, Supply Chain functions.
Prior to that, he joined Genentech in 2005 where he was Vice President of the Biologics Manufacturing Operations in South San Francisco. In 2010, shortly after the Roche Group acquisition of Genentech, Tony took on the role of integrating and leading the Roche/Genentech Global Biologics Quality Operations for the Drug Product network in 2010 through mid 2013.
Thereafter, he took on the role as Vice President and Head of External Manufacturing – Biologics for Roche/Genentech, responsible for the Biologics CMO network operations globally. In this role he managed the relationships with over 40 different CMO’s around the world.
Prior to Roche/Genentech, Tony worked for GlaxoSmithKline for 17 years, primarily in manufacturing, including 5 years as Site Director of Upper Merion Operations, in PA. Tony holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from CIT, Ireland and a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Rutgers, The State University, NJ.
